Programs
We take pride in knowing we have strong administrative leaders, committed teachers, staff and parents who are dedicated to supporting our school. Below are some of the Island Lake Elementary programs that benefit from PTA funds and volunteers.
Classroom Enrichment
Last year, over $17,000 went to classroom supplies and educational materials. The PTA provides these funds to enrich students’ classroom experiences not covered by school or district budgets.
International Night
International Night 2020 has become a virtual International Week! Each day Nov. 16-20, we'll share photos, videos, and writeups from Island Lake families. For an opportunity to showcase your family’s background,
sign up here by Nov. 8.
Book Fair
PTA hosts book a fall and spring book fair, with proceeds benefitting the Island Lake library. A great selection of kid-approved books at family-approved prices. You can support this program by visiting the book fair or volunteering.
Chess Club
Over 100 students participate in the Chess Club each year! It is a great way for your child to connect with peers in a fun and engaging environment.
Gardening Team
We depend on volunteers to care for our community garden and to enhance the grounds surrounding the school. A great way to volunteer as a family.
Science Fair
Students employ the scientific method to test a hypothesis, then display and present their findings at the science fair.
Spring Carnival
Fun for the whole family! Carnival games, food trucks, bouncy house, prizes and silent auction.
Teacher Appreciation
We recognize and celebrate how our teachers play such a pivotal role in our children’s lives. Inspiring a love of learning and making a difference in their well-being and long-term success.
Library Funding
PTA provides funds directly to the school library to expand the collection. This ensures that our students have access to a diverse and relevant selection of books and media.
Special Events
The PTA plans and coordinates events such as Grandparents Day, Kindergarten Round Up, Bingo Night, Run with the Wolves, Fifth Grade Picnic and more!
